Body of Lithuanian divorcee was found dumped behind garages
Jurors have been sworn in for the trial of a man accused of murdering a Wembley mother and dumping her body near her home has begun.
Nijole Siskeviciene was found at the back of garages yards away from her flat in Lancelot Road on October 20, 1998.
The 44-year-old hotel chambermaid had been strangled.
The Lithuanian divorcee, who had a teenage son, moved to the UK in 1997 and had previously lived in Harlesden and Kilburn before moving to Wembley only a week before she died.
Following a cold case review, James Citro, 54, was arrested and charged with her murder in January.
Today (Tuesday) at the Old Bailey a jury was sworn in for the trial which will last two weeks.
Citro, who appeared in court in a wheelchair, was born as James Kennedy in County Tipperary, Ireland.
He denies murder.
