Toys, treats and food delivered to homeless animals
A group of motorcyclists got on their bikes and delivered yuletide delights to homeless animals at a rescue centre.
A wealth of toys, treats and food were donated to the ‘residents’ at the Mayhew Animal Home as part of the traditional Paws and Claws Run.
The event, which takes place every Christmas, sees bikers take off from the famous Ace Caf in Stonebridge, to bring the goodies to the sanctuary based in Trenmar Avenue, Kensal Rise.
Caroline Yates, from the Mayhew, said: “It is a real treat every year to welcome the motorcyclists from the Ace Cafe at the Mayhew, as the dogs, cats and rabbits here at the home always get lavished with lots of attention from the compassionate convoy.
“It is wonderful they always bring us such a fantastic amount of donated goods for our homeless animals.”
In addition to all the donated gifts of food and toys for the animals, the bikers also raised more than 100 Mayhew which celebrated its 125th anniversary this year.
The Mayhew is a registered charity which receives no government funding so relies entirely on donation and legacies.
