Kensal Rise-based group took part in six-week fundraising mission

A kind-hearted group of scouts have raised �200 for a children’s hospital by taking part in a six-week fundraising mission.

The 28th Willesden Beaver Colony, which is based in Kensal Rise, made the most of their creative side to make large collages, paintings and hand decorated flowerpots which they sold to proud parents.

Last week, the fruits of their labour were recognised when a cheque which was handed over to Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Thelma Doyle, assistant beaver scout leader said: “The whole event was a great success in many ways and enjoyed by everyone.

“Parents became aware of the special part Great Ormond Street Hospital plays in the lives of so many families with long term sick children and much was learned on the outing itself.”
