Revellers in Kilburn have been dealt a blow following the sudden closure of a live music venue after 18 years.
Power’s Bar in Kilburn High Road, have shut up shop for good despite being on of the busiest bars on the thoroughfare.
The bar was managed by the son of music promoter and founder of the Mean Fiddler live music chain Vince Power.
In the last few days rumours had been circulating that the bar had closed but it was confirmed today through the venue’s official Twitter page.
They tweeted; “As many of you already know, Power’s Bar is now closed. Thanks to everyone who came over the last 18 years. We hope you have good memories!”
Aimee Brandon, of Shoot Up Hill, said: “I’m really upset it’s closed, it was not only a great place to go for a late drink, and it also supported so many great bands in the area and brought them to a wider audience without a hefty entry fee.
“It has a real old school charm and will be greatly missed.”
The Good Ship is now the last venue in Kilburn High Road to offer live music.
