Residents in a tower block in Kilburn escaped injury after a fire broke out in a store cupboard and a communal landing in the building.
No one was hurt after but the fire in Alpha Place severely damaged the seven-storey block yesterday night.
Four fire engines, two each from Paddington and West Hampstead fire stations, were called to the scene at 9.14pm and the blaze was under control at 110.05pm.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
