Generous shoppers donated £1,115 in memory of a mother who was shot dead as she celebrated her birthday in Kilburn at a fundraising event on Saturday.
Friends and relatives of Sabrina Moss collected the sum at Asda supermarket in Forty Lane, Wembley, which will go into a trust fund for her four-year-old son Mason’s future.
Ms Moss, who lived in Neasden, was gunned down as she celebrated her 24th birthday in Kilburn High Road, in the early hours of August 24.
Amanda McIntosh, 32, from Wembley, organised the event in memory of her cousin.
She was joined by Emanuel Flavious, both hers and Miss Moss’ uncle, and family friend Titania Titus.
She told the Times: “Every penny raised will go into a trust fund for Mason. It’s hard to believe he grow up without his mother.
“Everyone was so compassionate and generous. When they noticed our stall they came over and offer their condolences.
“They all said they had heard about Sabrina and they were very sorry.”
Miss Moss, who lived with her son and partner Arron, will be laid to rest on Friday.
Ms McIntosh said: “Everyone is devastated.
“I saw her a few hours before she went out and we were cracking jokes and laughing and having a drink celebrating her birthday.
“We are a big family and very close so Sabrina’s death has hit us hard.
“She had a heart of gold and when she walked into a room she lit it up.
“It’s going to be very hard and very emotional to say goodbye to her.”
In addition to the funds raised Asda have pledged to donate a further £100.
A special website with a target of £20,000 has raised £6,462 so far.
Ms McIntosh said: “I want to thank Asda for all their support and for allowing us to fundraise at their store.
“The whole family is grateful for all the support shown by the community.”
