Junior Hoilett is a doubt for QPR’s home clash with Brighton on Wednesday after suffering a hamstring injury in Saturday’s win over Birmingham City.
Hoilett pulled up late in the first half and had to be taken off before the break, with Matt Phillips coming on as replacement, and will now be assessed by medical staff.
The 23-year-old injured his hamstring in the game against Ipswich Town last month, but Rangers first team coach Joe Jordan was unsure if it was a recurrence of the same injury.
“It is a hamstring injury but whether it’s in the exact same spot, I don’t know,” Jordan said. “We took him off as a precaution because we don’t want that to be long-term. I think the fact that he has come off means there could be an element of doubt for Wednesday.”
