An alumna of a music college in Kilburn who has carved out a successful singing career has been nominated for a prestigious industry award.
Etta Bond, a former student at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in Dyne Road, is up for the best newcomer category at the MOBO Awards.
The 23-year-old, who grew up in Cambridge, signed with rapper and producer Labrinth’s label Odd Child Recordings after completing a vocal diploma course at the Institute in 2009.
She went on to perform with artists including Devlin (Love Cards), Wretch 32 (Forgiveness), Plan B (Playing with Fire) and Professor Green.
Since releasing two successful EPs with fellow Oddchild signing ‘Raf Riley’ she has gone on to play huge live music events including Wireless, Glastonbury, Global Gathering, The Great Eascape, Reading and Leeds festival.
Ms Bond also supported Labrinth on his 2012 UK arena tour as well as featuring on his track ‘Under The Knife’ and opened for Azealia Banks under the project name ‘ExR’.
