A vicious thug from Wembley who robbed and brutally attacked a brain-damaged man, knowing of his condition, has been jailed for 11 years.

Christopher King, of Clarendon Gardens, left his victim with a double break to the jaw after repeatedly punching him in the face and body for 10 minutes.

He carried out his vicious assault on his street in front of shocked members of the public who tried to stop him.

The 26-year old targeted his victim, who he knew had sustained a brain injury in a previous attack in 2011, and forced him to empty his pockets of his cash and mobile phone.

He also prised a ring off his fingers before attacking him in July last year.

Last week at Harrow Crown Court he was jailed for 11 years and two months after pleading guilty to GBH with intent in November.

DC Tom Palmer, investigating officer, said: “King is a dangerous and violent individual who poses a high risk of serious harm to others.

“This was a particularly vicious attack given that the victim had a previous brain injury that King knew about. The victim required facial surgery and was lucky that the injuries were not more severe.

“The length of the sentence, which places it in the most serious category of violent assault, indicates the severity with which the courts and police will deal with this type of offence.”
