A pound shop price war is in the midst in Wembley High Road after one store slashed all its goods to 89p.
Sams 99p has taken off 10p off all its goods in a bid to lure shoppers from its rivals Poundland and 99p Stores.
The manager of the shop, which now offers a cheaper range of household, gardening and food products, confirmed the promotion was introduced to increase competition, but refused to give any more details.
Francis Henry from Daniels Estate Agent, which is yards away from Sam 99, said the price cuts show the high street has too many discount stores.
But he added: “If a price war brings more shoppers to Wembley then it is a positive thing for the area.”
