A couple from Willesden celebrated in style this weekend as they marked the opening of a colourful new hair salon offering tear and tantrum-free cuts for kids.
Ajay Kawa and his partner Louise Hadi welcomed dozens of tots to Snip Kidz salon on Queen’s Parade in Willesden for their very first haircut on Saturday.
The couple say they were inspired to open a truly child-friendly salon after they experienced the stress of taking their own daughter for a regular cut on her unruly long locks.
Mr Kawa said: “We’ve had an amazing launch today with children coming to have their haircut in a fun and friendly environment.
“We experienced the tantrums of tricky cuts and fidgeting in the chair and we wanted to make it easier for parents and kids to have a stylish cut that they’ll actually look forward to.”
The salon, which is kitted out with toys, a television and sporty bumper car chairs including a Red Mini Cooper and a Jeep with working engine sounds, is also partnering with the children’s cancer charity The Little Princess Trust to allow children to donate their locks to youngsters in need of wigs during their chemotherapy treatment.
Mr Kawa and Ms Hadi have also teamed up with Malorees infant and junior school in Christchurch Avenue to donate £2.50 towards the school fund for every Maloree’s pupil who comes in for a cut.
From today readers will be entitled to a 10 per cent discount on their first Snip Kidz cut if they present the code BKTimes and a copy of the Brent and Kilburn Times.
