Council chiefs have given the green light for 52 new flats to be built in South Kilburn as part of a multi-million pound regeneration of the area.

The block in Chippenham Gardens, will be made up of 22 affordable homes for secure tenants currently living on the South Kilburn estate and the remaining will be sold on the private market.

The buildings housing the flats will vary in height, from four to six-storeys and consist of 24 one-bedroom flats, 19 two-bedroom flats and nine three-bedroom flats, in addition five of the properties will be wheelchair accessible.

Cllr Roxanne Mashari, Brent Council’s lead member for regeneration and growth, said: “This latest approval will enable further phases of this important regeneration work to move forward, bringing even more in-demand, high quality affordable housing to the area.”
