This is a really challenging time for everyone, and we must look out for each other – especially the elderly, those with underlying conditions and families who are struggling.

We all must work from home wherever possible. Essential workers and others who have to go out: please look after yourself, follow official guidance and wash your hands for at least 20 seconds. If constituents have any questions about Coronavirus symptoms and guidance, visit the NHS website: nhs.uk/coronavirus.

On my website I have listed some useful and emergency contact details for Brent residents, including information on what to do if you know of anyone stuck abroad: dawnbutler.org.uk/coronavirus/

You can also contact Brent Council with any concerns at 020 8937 1234 or at coronavirus@brent.gov.uk

My office will work a little differently, without face-to-face advice surgeries, however I will remain available throughout this crisis to offer a full service. Constituents can continue to email me at dawnbutlermpoffice@parliament.uk.

In parliament I am continuing to hold the government to account, calling on them to support struggling families and businesses by introducing a basic income for those in affected industries, double sick pay, freeze on rent and mortgages, and to officially request the closure of restaurants, cafes and theatres so businesses can claim insurance.

I want to thank our amazing doctors and nurses in the NHS and everyone helping to fight this pandemic.

Together we will get through this, our community is our strength.
