Fifty years after they first played to sell-out crowds with the Beatles, rock super group The Who are returning to Wembley’s SSE Arena this weekend for the first show since their frontman cancelled their world tour.

The group, famous for hits such as Pinball Wizard, will rock the rafters of the SSE Arena in Engineer’s Way on Saturday.

Roger Daltrey was forced to postpone the band’s US tour in September when he contracted viral meningitis.

Resuming their world tour of the Who Hits 50! Show, the band are looking forward to returning to Wembley.

Mr Daltrey said: “Who’d have thought that fifty years on from first playing at Wembley Arena with the Beatles and many of the top groups of that time

“The Who would once again play at this legendary venue. It’s great to be feeling much better after my illness. I’ll be fighting fit by then and I can’t wait to get back to work.”
