IT'S hard to know where to place Mass Effect 2, whether it's to suggest a space opera in the mould of the Halo franchise or instead to describe it as something of a dark sci-fi thriller that resembles a movie.

Perhaps it's just the believable, interactive dialogue that almost makes the player think it is you doing the detective work and not a linear plot.

This second instalment in the Mass Effect trilogy is an epic science fiction adventure set in a vast universe filled with dangerous alien life and mysterious, uncharted planets.

In part two, players step into the hardened boots of the heroic Commander Shepard, commanding a crew of the most dangerous operatives from across the galaxy on a suicidal mission,

This intense shooter action, has a rich futuristic storyline, stunning space exploration and emotionally engaging characters to delivers surprisingly cinematic experience.

Players who access the in-game 'The Cerberus Network' will receive the first downloadable Content (DLC) pack including new missions, gear and a mission that introduces Zaeed, a rugged and deadly gun-for-hire who is recruited to join Commander Shepard's mission to save mankind.

Another DLC pack will introduce the Hammerhead, a new agile hover tank with improved handling on rough terrain and deft manoeuvres in combat -- a necessity for players travelling across harsh planetary environments throughout the galaxy.

BioWare will also release new missions and unique in-game items, including Cerberus Assault Armour which boost shields, health and heavy weapon ammo and the M-22 Eviscerator Shotgun.
