A former Metropolitan Police officer has been pictured outside court where he appeared charged with five counts of raping a woman.
Jade Ebanks, 29, from Kilburn, is alleged to have carried out the attacks before he joined the force between March 2018 and January 2020.
The ex-officer, who joined the Met in June 2021, was suspended from duty as a police constable after he was arrested on May 5, 2022.
Ebanks resigned from the force a week before he was charged on April 28 this year.
The 29-year-old is charged with five counts of rape against the same woman in Greenford and Uxbridge.
He appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court yesterday (May 31) wearing a dark suit, white shirt and dark tie.
Ebanks was not asked to enter pleas to any of the counts, which can only be tried in the Crown Court.
District Judge Briony Clarke granted Ebanks, who was based with the force’s North West Basic Command Unit covering Brent, Barnet and Harrow, bail with the condition he does not contact the complainant.
The judge told the former officer he must appear at Isleworth Crown Court on June 28 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
