Ashes blow for Roland-Jones

Middlesex seamer Toby Roland-Jones is set to miss England’s winter Ashes after scans confirmed he has a stress fracture in his back.

Middlesex skipper Adam Voges is tipping county team-mate Steven Finn to be part of the England selection shake-up for this winter’s Ashes tour to Australia after bowling the county to the brink of first division safety in the Specsavers County Championship top flight thisweek.

Forgotten England paceman Steven Finn returned his first five-wicket championship haul since April 2014 to steer Middlesex to a crucial 36-run win over Lancashire with a day to spare at Lord’s.
