Stuart Birnie and Peter Dixon both scooped a hat-trick of awards when Willesden CC held their annual dinner on Saturday at Stanmore Golf Club.

Birnie collected the Stayer’s Trophy, the Hillclimb Champion Trophy and the NYGL Sportive Cup from Dora Howard, the wife of guest of honour Professor Ken Howard.
Dixon went home with the Dunning Cup for the fastest 25 miles, the Nick Tidmarsh Cup for the fastest 10 miles, and also a plaque for winning all of Willesden’s time trial events during 2011.
Peter Turnbull was the men’s Audax champion and winner of the President’s Trophy, while Gill Reynolds retained the ladies’ time trial championship and also won the Erica Spring Cup for the fastest 10 miles.
There was success for the Savage family, with Tony winning the Jim Revill Memorial Handicap Cup and his daughters claiming two trophies apiece.
Lauren was the club’s junior road race champion and junior track champion, while her sister Kirsten clinched the schoolgirls’ track and road race titles.
Roger Woodford won the men’s road and track championship, while Simon Passey was the schoolboys’ road race champion and Connor Woodford took the track championship.
Russell O’Malley picked up the Palmer Trophy for the fastest 100 miles, with Robert Wheatley winning the schools’ Audax Trophy and Martin Lucas the Audax Merit Cup.
The ladies’ Audax title went to Wendy Mears, while Ron and Gladys Purdy won the marshalling trophy and John Davies – a Willesden rider for 21 years – was awarded life membership.
Ladies’ road race and track champion Jayne Paine – who is in Australia until May – received the club’s sash of honour in recognition of her three medals at last year’s World Masters.
Hendon could soon be on the move again after signalling that they intend to leave Vale Farm at the end of next season.
