Both teams began the new term with victories last weekend

Hendon look to make it two wins from two in Herts/Middlesex One on Saturday when they welcome local rivals UCS Old Boys.

The Greenlands Lane club began the campaign with a 43-12 win at home to Barnet Elizabethans last weekend.

Stand-in captain Toby Ikweueke was pleased to begin the term with a win, but knows there are areas in which Hendon can improve over the coming weeks.

“The boys are very enthusiastic and encouraged by the result, but know that fitness has to be improved as the season progresses against some very strong clubs that beat us last season,” he said.

Head coach Phil Smith added: “It was a great start to the new season and a worthy result for all the hard work and enthusiasm realised in the pre-season training sessions.”

UCS Old Boys also began the season with a win last weekend, beating Bank of England 31-25.

Both teams will want to maintain their perfect starts with a win on Saturday.
