Hooks ABC have raised nearly £1,400 after holding a fundraising event at the weekend.

Renowned recycling and waste management company Powerday have provided invaluable support to the growth of amateur boxing over the last few years, were in attendance as they presented the Park Royal based club with a new canvas.

Hooks boxers such as Nathan Brown, Eddie Barrett and Silas Rose- Morris were sponsored to spar by supporters and sponsors of Hooks.

Some of the latter paid to do rounds on ther hook and jab pads with long-serving coach Steve Newland.

A final figure of £1,394.10 was raised on Sunday, with some Hooks boxers also paying to spar with each other on what was a hugely productive afternoon.

Former ABA champion Lucien Reid, who has won all five of his professional fights to date, also moved around on the canvas with a couple of Hooks’ national champions, which proved to be a hugely beneficial experience for all of those who were involved.
