QUEEN'S Park Harriers sprinter Richmond Hazeley switched to the high jump to claim a shock county indoor title at Edmonton on Sunday.

Hazeley, who usually runs the 100m and 200m, filled in for QPH in the senior high jump at the Middlesex Indoor Championships - and cleared 1.80m to win the gold medal.

That means the QPH athlete - who pulled a muscle and could only finish sixth in the 200m (24.83 seconds) - will now represent Middlesex at the Inter-Counties Championships this weekend.

In the senior men's 60m, QPH's Keith Bacchus sliced a large chunk off his personal best to take sixth place in a time of 7.98.

Meanwhile, debutant Zaki Badawi ran well to take third place in the under-15 200m (30:24) and fourth in the 60m (9:45).

BRENDAN Greene was the fastest QPH finisher in the Finsbury Park 5km race on Sunday, completing the course in 21st place with a time of 31 minutes nine seconds.

Joao Diogo was next for QPH in 33rd place (33:08), followed by Martin Hill in 45th (34:25) and Bill O'Connor in 119th (43:59).
