PARNELL'S have pulled off a coup ahead of the new season by bringing in Derek Hayden, who was Carlow's footballer of the year in 2008.

The Kingsbury-based club will be looking for Hayden to spearhead their assault on the intermediate championship this season as they aim to bounce back from relegation.

The new Parnell's signing was in action for London's GAA side as they lined out against Clare at Ruislip on Sunday.

Although the Exiles went down by 1-19 to 1-8, they were by no means disgraced and Hayden managed to find the back of the Clare net with a well taken first half goal.
