Stones ready to tackle National League opposition once more after midweek draw with Maidenhead United

Wealdstone face another stern test on Saturday when they welcome National League side Aldershot Town for a pre-season friendly.

The Shots, managed by former Queens Park Rangers midfielder Gary Waddock, have qualified for the play-offs in non-league’s top-flight in each of the last two seasons.

The Hampshire outfit also have plenty of Football League experience in their ranks, with the likes of Jake Cole, Luke Howell and former Stones man Marvin McCoy among the players at their disposal.

The Grosvenor Vale outfit have already taken on National League opposition once this week, holding Maidenhead United to a draw at home on Tuesday.

That stalemate followed a 1-0 win away to Swindon Supermarine of the Evo-Stik South Premier South, with Bradley Bubb scoring the game’s only goal.

After hosting Aldershot on Saturday, Wealdstone are back in action on Tuesday when they make the trip to Evo-Stik South Premier South outfit Staines Town.
