St. Panteleimon FC moved up into second in the table as they continued their unbeaten league form with a 3-1 victory against AFC Utd this weekend.

The Saints started quickly, hitting the crossbar within three minutes and after battling hard some quick thinking from Saints’ top scorer Nikos Salapatas saw him shoot from distance and find the net to make it 0-1 after 10 minutes.

Then towards half-time the hosts equalised to make it 1-1 at the break.

The Saints came out fired up in the second half and in the 60th minute Nikos Salapatas struck again after he went round the keeper.

Noyan struck a thunderous free-kick from the edge of the box and found the bottom corner leaving the keeper rooted to the spot to seal a 1-3 victory in the dying stages.

St Panteleimon will now turn their attention to a quarter-final tie in the Jim Rogers President’s Division One Cup where they face Kodak.
