St Panteleimon sealed their progress into the third round of the Middlesex FA Intermediate Cup with a 4-2 win against AFC Spelthorne.

A hat-trick from Noyan Tajbakhsh and a solo effort from Tiago Goncalves sealed the win in their second-round clash at the weekend.

Saints pressed hard in the early stages of the match and it eventually paid off as Tajbakhsh pressured the Spelthorne keeper and, after an attempted clearance hit him, he slotted the ball home.

Spelthorne levelled on the hour, before Goncalves struck home 12 minutes later to restore his side’s lead.

The visitors squared matters for a second time from a goalmouth scramble, but Tajbakhsh made it 3-2 from the penalty spot.

And he went on to complete his hat-trick with the fourth to send Saints through.

St Panteleimon return to Middlesex League Premier Division action this weekend with a top-of-the-table clash against Pitshanger Dynamo FC at Greenford.
