HARRY Redknapp believes QPR's on-loan midfielder Adel Taarabt has the potential to become a 'world beater' under new boss Neil Warnock.

Former Rangers manager Jim Magilton, exasperated by Taarabt's fluctuating form, was keen to shorten his season-long loan and arrange his early return to White Hart Lane.

But the Moroccan has begun to find some consistency since Warnock's arrival earlier this month and Redknapp feels the player will continue to flourish.

"He's had good spells, he's had bad spells. QPR wanted to send him back halfway through the loan at one stage," the Tottenham boss confirmed.

"I said 'we can't take him back, it's a season-long loan', so they were upset with that.

"But since Neil's been there, he's found some form and he's playing very well. And when he has good days, he's a world-beater - he's got great ability.

"When Adel puts it all together he can be an amazing player. I'm sure Neil's getting the best out of him now. Everybody else tried at QPR, but if anyone can sort him out it'll be Neil Warnock.

"Maybe he's responding to Neil's management style and he's getting the best out of him."

But Redknapp made it clear that the Rs can forget hopes of luring the 20-year-old to Loftus Road on a permanent basis.

"He's under contract here and he'll come back next year unless Real Madrid or Barcelona pick up the phone. That's where he sees himself playing!

"He's got to get on with his football, try to make his way in the game and become the player that he could become with the ability he's been given.
