Defender has not played for west Londoners since October last year, but will start against the Cobblers
Steven Caulker is set to make his first appearance for Queens Park Rangers since October 2016 when they face Northampton Town in the first round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday.
The defender has not featured for the west Londoners since a 2-0 loss at home to Brentford in the Championship last October, but came through 70 minutes for QPR’s under-23s in a 5-1 win at Billericay Town of the Isthmian Premier last week.
Boss Ian Holloway may elect to rotate his squad for the cup clash, with a tough trip to Sheffield Wednesday to come in the Championship on Saturday.
Matt Ingram could come in between the sticks for Alex Smithies, having played in all three EFL Cup ties for the west Londoners last season.
Ariel Borysiuk could come into the starting XI, with Holloway stating how impressed he has been by the Polish midfielder this term, along with Irishman Ryan Manning.
Up top, Conor Washington could be given the nod again having netted twice against Reading in the Championship on Saturday.
New signing Alex Baptiste will be on the bench after joining on a two-year deal on Monday following his release from Middlesbrough.
Probable XI: Ingram; Furlong, Onuoha, Caulker, Bidwell; Manning, Borysiuk, Scowen; Ngbakoto, Washington, Wszolek.
