QPR sign Grecians winger for undisclosed fee on deadline day
Queens Park Rangers have signed Exeter City winger David Wheeler for an undisclosed fee.
The 26-year-old becomes Rs permanent fourth signing of the summer and has agreed a three-year deal with the west Londoners.
Wheeler joined the Grecians in 2013 from Staines Town and went on to make over 150 appearances in all competitions for Paul Tisdale’s side.
The Brighton-born winger was part of the Exeter squad that reached the League Two play-off final last season, with Wheeler scoring City’s goal in a 2-1 loss to Blackpool.
But having agreed a move to the Championship with the Loftus Road club, Wheeler is now looking forward to what lies ahead in his career.
“I’m excited to be a QPR player. It’s starting to kick in now that it’s got to this stage,” he told the club website.
“It’s a big deal for me and a big achievement. I can’t wait to get started.”
