Forward enjoyed productive season at Loftus Road earlier in career

Peter Crouch admits he would love to return to Queens Park Rangers before the end of his playing career.

The former England international spent just one season with the Rs earlier in his career, scoring 10 goals in 42 games in the 2000/01 campaign.

The 37-year-old currently plays for Sky Bet Championship rivals Stoke City, so is already in line to return to Loftus Road for a league encounter on March 9.

But the former Liverpool striker hopes that he can one day don the famous blue and white hoops of the west Londoners once again before he hangs up his boots.

In an interview with ITV London, Crouch said: “I’ve played for quite a few clubs, but quite a few of them I hold dearly, really. I think QPR is one of my favourites because that’s where I started.

“My friends and family are QPR fans as well, so that’s one that is really close to my heart and I always said I would go back there one day and I would love to go back there.”
