Greens lost 3-2 at Harrow Borough in London Senior Cup on Tuesday after beating Poole Town 1-0 in Evo-Stik South Premier South last weekend

Hendon will hope Ricardo German can continue his fine goalscoring form when they host Phoenix Sports in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

Since joining the Greens in the summer, striker German has netted 10 goals in nine appearances in all competitions and has scored in each of his last three games.

With £9,000 in prize money on offer for winners of ties in the second qualifying round, boss James Gray will want German to get among the goals again this weekend.

And the manager of the Silver Jubilee Park outfit acknowledges that if German can maintain his form over the course of the season, there will be lots of interest in him.

“If Ricardo continues scoring like he has, it’s going to be difficult to keep hold of him,” Gray told the club website.

“He’s enjoying his time here and I think he needs a whole season here to be honest.

“There’s no point in going elsewhere and I don’t think his fitness is anywhere near where it needs to be.

“To get the goal return he’s got already, and I think he still has another 30 per cent to go fitness-wise, is great.

“I’m sure people will come knocking, but he’s happy here and we’ll try to look after him.”

Hendon head into their clash with the Bostik South East side after losing 3-2 to Evo-Stik South Premier South rivals Harrow Borough in the London Senior Cup on Tuesday.

The Greens, however, did name a youthful squad for that game and scored through Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick and Mickey White.

That cup exit followed a 1-0 victory at home to Poole Town in the league last Saturday, with German scoring the only goal from the spot.

And Gray believes his team deserved to come away with the victory over the Dolphins.

“We were probably good value for our three points,” added the Hendon boss.

“We took our goal well and we rode our luck at times, but we defended unbelievably as a unit which was really pleasing.”

“Every game in this league is tough. The way Poole play, they get a lot of bodies forward and pump it long from the keeper and the full-backs. We had to defend really well.”
