FA Trophy: Hendon to visit Sutton United in second round

The draw for the second round of the FA Trophy has been made

Hendon have been drawn away to National League promotion hopefuls Sutton United in the second round of the FA Trophy.

The draw for the second round of the competition was made live on talkSPORT 2 on Monday afternoon.

The Greens beat Bath City of the National League South 2-1 at home on Saturday and have been rewarded with a trip to the U’s.

Paul Doswell’s men have good recent pedigree in cup competitions, having reached the FA Cup fifth round last term, before losing at home to Arsenal.

Wealdstone, meanwhile, have been drawn at home to Hereford, who shocked National League high flyers Dagenham & Redbridge 3-2 on Sunday.

Bobby Wilkinson’s men reached the second round thanks to a 1-0 win at home to Wingate & Finchley of the Bostik Premier on Saturday.

Ties in the second round of the FA Trophy are due to be played over the weekend of January 13, with winners pocketing £7,000 in prize money.
