Friendly: Hounslow under-11s 2 Brent under-11s 1

Brent under-11s boys’ football team suffered a 2-1 defeat against their Hounslow counterparts in their opening pre-season friendly.

The borough boys made an assured start, passing the ball out from the back with freedom and control.

Brent created multiple chances with Le’Kai Chevannes, Armend Muslika and Troy Kelly all coming close, but unable to beat the Hounslow stopper.

Several goalmouth scrambles ensued and Brent were still unable to score, but kept their resolve.

The borough boys kept playing in a patient, but positive manner with Dhyan Sharma’s tricks and skills causing problems on the right and Jack Somers showing the composure to pull the strings on the left.

However, Hounslow scored first on the stroke of half-time when a swift counter-attack caught Brent off-guard ended with a composed finish that found the back of the net.

The second half resulted in more of the same as Hounslow defended with dogged determination, putting their bodies on the line as Brent pushed for the equaliser.

Kalungi Lovell came on and was dangerous upfront, but couldn’t find a way past the Hounslow keeper.

Brent’s pressing was relentless, giving their opponents very little time in possession of the ball.

This led to more chances, with the posst and crossbar shaking from two further opportunities.

Another sucker punch ensued when risky play at the back gifted Hounslow possession and they took advantage to double their lead.

Brent responded soon after with another attack that led to a save, a block and finally Bernardo Zaniuncio powering home via a deflection.

Brent pushed hard in the final five minutes and had three more chances, with Muslika’s shot from the edge of the box going just wide.

Brent: Barrett, Bucko, Chevannes, Kelly, Lashani-Ewing, Lovell, McKenzie, Moore, Muslika, Prela, Scollen, Sharma, Somers, Zabiri, Zaniuncio.
