Ex-Dale Youth amateur revealed his next bout on Twitter on Monday

Former Dale Youth amateur James DeGale has revealed he is set to return to the ring later this month.

The 32-year-old has not fought since regaining the IBF world super middleweight title from Caleb Truax in Las Vegas in April.

DeGale has since relinquished that belt as he goes in search of bigger fights before his career draws to a close.

The 2008 Olympic champion took to social media site Twitter on Monday to announce his next bout, though did not reveal who his opponent would be.

DeGale posted: “I’m boxing in an eight-rounder on September 30 in Los Angeles on the Victor Ortiz versus John Molina bill. When I get through that, I’ve got something nice and juicy for you in December.”

DeGale’s next scheduled bout will come two days after fellow ex-Dale Youth amateur and fierce rival George Groves defends his WBA super middleweight title against Callum Smith in Saudi Arabia.
