Jack Davies, Savin Perera, Ethan Bamber and Luke Hollman all part of team in New Zealand

A knock of 63 from Middlesex prospect Jack Davies helped England beat New Zealand in the seventh-place play-off at the Under-19s World Cup.

After losing to Bangladesh on Friday, the young England team took on hosts New Zealand in their final match of the tournament.

Having won the toss, England elected to bat first and amassed a total of 261-7 from their 50 overs.

Middlesex youngster Savin Perera opened the batting and scored 19 before departing, while Davies later put on 139 for the fourth wicket with Tom Banton (112).

In reply, New Zealand rallied from 88-3 to 200-3 to put the England total under pressure.

However, the tournament collapsed to 229 all out to hand England victory by 32 runs in Queenstown.

Davies and Perera were two of four Middlesex youngsters in the England squad for the tournament, along with Ethan Bamber and Luke Hollman of Midds Premier Division side North Middlesex.
