Harman Drive outfit were beaten by two wickets after being bowled out for less than 200
Brondesbury skipper James Overy admits his team did not post a total that was imposing enough after losing by two wickets at Finchley in the Middlesex County League Premier Division.
After electing to bat, the Harman Drive outfit were all out for just 197, with Overy’s knock of 46 the top score.
Despite Sam Smith finishing with figures of 3-71, Finchley were able to successfully complete their chase in the 47th over.
The defeat saw the Harman drive side suffer their first league defeat of June, and Overy admits that was down to not setting a high-enough target for Finchley to chase.
“We posted a score that was probably 40 runs short of what we needed. We did the hard work with the bat and then gave our wickets away,” he said.
“We did all we could with the ball and were as good as we could have been in the field, but it was always going to be tough defending that total.”
