A fine performance from Hooks prospect Partice Mughazai saw him run out a unanimous winner against Norwich City’s Morgan Taylor-Smith in the National Championships.

Mughazi showed his full repertoire of shots in the first two rounds, before a big left hand from the southpaw forced the referee to give Taylor-Smith a standing count in the third.

Taylor-Smith kept going and made a fight of it to the finish, but Mughazi had done enough to win.

Mughazi will now face Pinewood’s multi-titled England international Adam Azim in a quarter-final in Slough on Sunday.

Jonathon O’Donnell, Tidy O’Donnell and Roberto Lacourt are also through after receving walkover wins.

Mughazi will have to be at his absolute best to beat Azim, while the O’Donnells will both be taking on defending champions in their bouts.

Sunday looks set to be a big day for Hooks as some of their most talented prospects look to progress.
