National Basketball Association (NBA) action is set return to the O2 Arena on January 11 with Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers set to meet in a regular season game in London.

The game will mark the league’s eighth regular season game in London and Celtics’ second in the capital, having played a pre-season match against Minnesota Timberwolves in 2007.

The 76ers will be playing their second game in the UK and first in London, having previously played a pre-season match in Manchester against Oklahoma City Thunder in 2013.

“I am delighted the NBA continues to bring the world’s best basketball to our great city in what has now become a well-established and eagerly anticipated event on London’s sporting calendar,” said Mayor of London Sadiq Khan.

“I am determined to make sure London remains the sporting capital of the world, and a key part of that is bringing major sports events here.

“It is also important that those major events provide important community benefits, which the NBA does so well.”

Tickets for the game will go on sale in October 2017. Fans can register their interest for tickets to the NBA London Game 2018 and gain access to bespoke content, presale information and more by visiting NBA.com/London.

Last season, Denver Nuggets beat Indiana Pacers 140-112 at the O2.
