Jamie Mackie bagged a brace to try and help his side win an unlikely point at Ewood Park after going 3-0 down at half-time

QPR manager Mark Hughes has praised striker Jamie Mackie after his double brought the west London club back into the game against Blackburn, although the R’s ultimately lost 3-2.
The west London club were 3-0 before Mackie was introduced as a second half substitute, with his efforts almost earning QPR an unlikely point.
The 26-year-old was making his first return to the ground where he suffered a double leg break in January last year.
“It was important for Jamie,” Hughes told the club’s official website. “Last year was a bad time for him but he’s come through it and been great.
“He’s been unlucky not to be in the side and has started a number of games for me.
“I thought that when he came on, we needed his energy and willingness to try and affect the game and get around people and that’s what he did.
“He scored a great (second) goal and has done his prospects, in my eyes, no harm whatsoever.”
QPR host Fulham on Saturday, where they will look to avenge a 6-0 hammering, which was dished out by the Whites at Craven Cottage on October 2.
The QPR midfielder reacted angrily to his red card at Manchester City
