Blackburn boss Steve Kean may not select wantaway defender Christopher Samba for the trip to QPR next weekend after being left out of the side against Arsenal.

The Congo defender submitted a transfer request in January and QPR had a bid rejected for the player, while Tottenham were also believed to be interested.

The Rovers manager also suggested that legal action may be taken against the defender.

“All I will say on it without going too deep, because I am not a legal expert, is he is fit and available for selection but I have decided not to put him in the squad,” he said.

“He is one of my key defenders and you always miss any player when they are not available. It is a position we would like to get resolved as soon as possible.

“The position we are just now is not really helpful for anyone. I have no idea if Chris will be involved next weekend.

“We’ll deal with that but I don’t want to talk about players who were not in the squad, I’d rather talk about the lads who were.”
