A woman and a young girl in a buggy have been hit by a car after it mounted a pavement in Kingsbury this afternoon.

The tot has been rushed to hospital but the female, who is in her 20s, was treated at the scene following the crash outside Kingsbury Road just before 1pm.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene outside Natwest Bank and was not arrested.

David Perry, who lives in Kenton, witnessed the accident.

He told the Times he heard a bang as he left the bank and turned to see the woman with a little girl.

He added: “A woman got hit by a car which was driving along the pavement. There was a little child in the pushchair, maybe two or three years old and an old chap was sitting in the car still.

“The woman came hobbling across the road with the little girl and sat on the kerb until the ambulance came.

“It was definitely an accident but what got me was he wasn’t driving on the road.”

The 74-year-old added: “There’s a lot happening around here at the moment with drivers.

“I don’t know what’s going on.”

A spokesman for the LAS said: “We sent an ambulance crew and a single responder in a car to the scene.

“We took a child, a girl, to a hospital in north west London.”

A spokesman for the police confirmed officers were called to the scene. He said: “A vehicle mounted the pavement and collided with a woman in her 20’s and pushchair. Her injuries were not thought to be life threatening or life changing and it’s not thought she went to hospital.

“No arrests have been made. The driver did stop and details of the vehicle were taken but nothing has happened with that as yet.”
