Olivier Danilo is accused of raping a woman in her Hampshire home

Court hears 40-year-old was besotted with victim showering her with money and gifts

A bakery manager who lavished money on a woman he was besotted with raped her after she rejected his advances, a jury heard.

Guildford Crown Court were told Olivier Danilo, of Ealing Road, Wembley, had help his victim financially and showered her with gifts but snapped and attacked her when she taunted him about his weight.

The 40-year-old is said to have desperately tried to lose weight by going jogging to win his victim’s affections.

On May 8 last year, Danilo went to her house in Hampshire after drinking several cans of cider.

Toyin Salako, prosecuting, said the victim was in bed when he arrived and he pestered her for sex which she refused.

Danilo is claimed to have climbed on top of her and raped her.

The woman told how she begged for mercy as he bore down on her while she lay helpless in bed.

But Danilo allegedly said: “You know you want to have sex with me.

“If you don’t say ‘yes,’ you could have me for rape.”.

But the sobbing woman kept saying: “No. I don’t agree to this,” the court was told.

Giving evidence to the police, she said: “He was on top of me. He had no clothes on.”

She said all she could smell was the alcohol on his breath.

“I told him: ‘You can’t bully me. You can’t control me,’” she said.

But she said her pleas were ignored.

Asked why she had not locked him out, the woman said that she feared that he might have kicked the door down.

Describing the defendant as ‘violent’ she said: “He’s pestered me for sex before. I was frightened.”

Danilo was arrested the next day.

He denies rape claiming the woman had consented to sexual intercourse.
