Today the Times reveals the shame list of restaurants and takeaways in Brent that have been dubbed the dirtiest in the borough by a food watchdog.

The ‘unlucky 13’ have all been given a zero-rating for hygiene following an inspection of its premises by the council’s environmental health officers.

A zero-rating is the lowest given while five is the highest.

All were rated according to how hygienically the food is handled, including how it is prepared, cooked, re-heated and cooled.

The condition of their business premises’ structure including the cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation and other facilities are also taken into consideration.

In addition the way the businesses manages and records what it does to make sure food is safe also goes towards their ratings.

The ratings are then published on the website of watchdog the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

The zero-rated eateries in Brent:

• Chasing Dragon in Ealing Road, Wembley (July 2016)

• Chasing Dragon in Cricklewood Broadway, Cricklewood (March 2016)

• Chicken Shop in Cricklewood Broadway, Cricklewood (February 2016)

• Dabeli Hut in Unit 1, Original Meena Bazaar in Ealing Road, Wembley (February 2016)

• K.T. Colombo Taste in Church Lane, Kingsbury (August 2015)

• Kebap 49 in Crickelwood Broadway, Cricklewood (February 2016)

• Mother India in Unit 1, High Road, Wembley (February 2016)

• Southern Fried Chicken in Salusbury Road, Queen’s Park (August 2015)

• Uncle Ali’s in Park Parade, Harlesden (February 2016)

• Wing Tai in Unit 2, Wing Yip Business centre in Edgware Road, Dollis Hill (August 2015)

• Yun Heung in Willesden Lane, Kilburn (June 2016)

• Z-We-Ton in Neasden Lane, Neasden (March 2016)

In March, Brent had 20 zero-rated eateries so the borough has seen a welcomed reduction of 35 per cent in the last six months.
