The Kilburn ward has been pinpointed as the key to the Liberal Democrats bid to topple Labour in May’s Council Elections.

Cllr Keith Moffitt, leader of Camden Lib Dems, said the party’s number one election target was to oust Kilburn’s three Labour candidates to leave the party without an overall majority in Camden Council.

He said: “We know it’s important for us to take seats off Labour and we think Kilburn is a good bet. We have got two previous councillors from Kilburn.

“We are aiming for a clean sweep. Labour only need to lose control of one ward for it to be a hung council. That demonstrates it’s on quite a fine balance.”

In the 2010 elections, all three seats in Kilburn swung from the Liberal Democrats to Labour.
