The sun shone on Barham Park as crowds came out to pay tribute on Remembrance Sunday.

Rev Graham Noyce, Borough Dean of Brent led the service yesterday, to remember those who gave their lives in the World Wars and other conflicts.

The Deputy Lieutenant, Mei Sim Lai OBE and the Mayor of Brent, Cllr Bhagwanji Chohan, led the tributes with Dawn Butler MP for Brent Central, Barry Gardiner, MP for Brent North, council leader Muhammed Butt, and chief executive Carolyn Downs, also among those to lay wreaths at the park’s War Memorial.

Thirty Gurkhas from the British Gurkha Nepalese Association led the Parade to the park.

They were followed by Air, Army, Police Training Core officers and cadets, members of St John Ambulance, and the the fire service.

Three Standard Bearers from the Royal British Legion were also in the parade.

The winners of the Deputy Lieutenant’s Prize Essay Competition 2017 read out their compositions during the service.
