Investigation launched after armed man threatens coffee shop staff in Harlesden

Police are appealing for witnesses after coffee shop staff were threatened with a gun in Harlesden.

Specialist firearms officers and a police helicopter crew were called to a cafe in the High Street at 3.20pm on Sunday following reports of a man with a weapon.

A man had apparently entered the store and threatened a member of staff with a handgun, Scotland Yard said.

No weapon was discharged and no one was injured.

Police contained and searched flats above the shop and spoke to neighbours .

Roads were cordoned off and traffic diverted as officers made an extensive search of the area but the man got away.

No arrests have been made and detectives from Brent CID are investigating.
