The HSBC branch in Wembley Park will close as a result of customers turning to internet banking it has been announced today.

The branch in Wembley Park Drive has been named as one of 62 which will be closed as customers embrace the digital age.

It was close in May.

Francesca McDonagh, HSBC’s head of retail banking and wealth management, said: “The decision to close these branches will ensure a more sustainable branch network for the future as we continue to invest in our digital platforms and our people.

“The way our customers bank with us is changing. More customers are using mobile and internet banking and fewer people are using our branches. “Nearly 90 per cent of our interactions with customers are now through our digital channels.

“Our priority is now to work closely with our colleagues and customers. We will write to all affected customers to advise them of local alternatives, as well as offering them 1-2-1 sessions to help explain their options or provide help in setting up mobile or internet banking.”

HSBC are teaming up with Barn Hill Post Office in Forty Avenue, Wembley, so customers can continue to carry out their day-to-day banking.
