A police officer who carried out a drunken attack on customers inside McDonaldsin Wembley and then lied to cover her tracks has been sacked.

PC Karen Fraser, who was based in Barnet, claimed she was an innocent witness when police were called to the 24-hour branch in Empire Way in December last year.

However CCTV footage taken during the incident around 2am unravelled her lies and she accepted a caution on March 17 for Section 4 Public Order offence ‘using threatening behaviour towards other persons’.

Yesterday Fraser, who joined the Met in 2008 and became a PC five years later, was dismissed at a special case misconduct hearing by the Metropolitan Police Service.

Assistant Commissioner Helen King, lead for professionalism and chair of the hearing, said: “The behaviour of PC Fraser, whilst off duty and under the influence of alcohol, is the type of conduct by members of the public that consistently pulls significant police resources into areas of night time economy across London.

“Off duty officers are expected not to contribute to the levels of violence their on duty colleagues are dealing with. The officer then compounded her actions by volunteering herself as a witness, and providing a statement that contained serious omissions. In this case,

“PC Fraser conducted herself in a way that falls far below the high standards of professional behaviour rightly expected by the public and I have concluded that the appropriate outcome is dismissal without notice.”
