A nursery has celebrated turning 10 by inviting every youngster who’s ever gone there to its special birthday party.

Happy Stars Day Nursery in St Andrews Road, Willesden Green, was launched by Joan Byas in 2008 and she still runs it today.

She told the Brent & Kilburn Times: “It was always my passion.

“I worked in a Monterssori nursery in Ealing for 15 years but then wanted to feed back into this community.

“When I opened it the response was amazing. We never advertised, it was all done through word of mouth and parents coming back with siblings.

“We invited 10 years’ worth of children to come back.”

The nursery was given an Outstanding rating by Ofsted at the last inspection in 2014. Inspectors called it “highly stimulating and enabling” and said the quality of teaching was “excellent”.
