Kids at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Canterbury Road designed, resourced and created their own recycled fashion pieces as part of an “Eco Fashion” Art Week.

Their designs using recycled bits of material and old clothes donated to the school were showcased in front of their peers on February 23.

They were inspired by eras in history ranging from the 1920s to modern day dressing up as kings, queens, brides and grooms.

There were also those who used their imaginations to stretch into the future of fashion.

Charlotte McAllister, a teacher at the school, said: “Children and staff alike had lots of fun admiring the different pieces that had been created during the first St Mary’s Fashion Week show.”

She added: “The children created some stunning looks by upcycling their unwanted materials.”
