Brent Council is to review on-street parking controls which could result in more restrictions being introduced in the borough.

The town hall are inviting residents, schools and businesses to have their say on how current Controlled Parking Zones are working and if other areas need them.

Other changes could see current CPZs changed depending on the views of affected residents.

Cllr Eleanor Southwood, Brent Council’s cabinet member for the environment, said: “We’re committed to better managing on-street parking so that people who need a parking space can find one, whilst encouraging people to use more sustainable transport where possible and taking action to tackle poor air quality.

“Many of our CPZ arrangements were implemented a long time ago and may no longer provide the parking options that residents need. I’m pleased that in response to comments from the On-street Parking and Charges consultation earlier this year, we’re able to offer this opportunity to review current arrangements and also look at potential new CPZ’s where there is a demand for them.

“Anyone who would like the council to review parking arrangements where they live is encouraged to fill in the online questionnaire and, ideally, to support their request with a petition demonstrating likely support for change from other local residents.”
